BMS’ non-woven expertise ranges from the design and fabrication of our Scaftex® tissue scaffolds to meeting the requirements of our clients’ proprietary designs. Our design and engineering group works with you to meet your needs from simple shapes to unique structures.
Resorbable non-woven structures have applications beyond classic tissue engineering. These fabrics are currently used as fibrous components within medical devices and surgical systems. Bioresorbable non-wovens can be used in a wide variety of restorative applications, ranging from wound dressings to organ regeneration to cosmetic surgery.
Our full line of Scaftex® tissue scaffolds are manufactured from a variety of synthetic polymer fibers: PGA, PLLA, PLGA, blends and proprietary customer supplied fibers. These materials are biocompatible and have differing degradation profiles ranging from less than 30 days to 1 year.
Needled non-wovens are particularly attractive for applications where natural tissue regeneration is desired. The high void volume, high surface area scaffolds are used to create 3-dimensional environments for cell proliferation and function.
All fabrics are supplied non-sterile. We recommend that EtO be used be used for sterilization.
