BMS’ knitting expertise ranges from our PPM series to client’s proprietary designs. Our design and engineering group works with you to meet your needs; establishing customized performance fabrics to your device or surgical system’s requirements.

Our standard polypropylene monofilament knitted mesh (PPM series) is designed as a starting point for customization of your design requirement. The three designs have unique properties that are generally used for a number of devices intended to reinforce soft tissue. Once your design characteristics have been established, BMS can provide custom sizes and shapes including knit-to-width tapes and cut-to-width tapes.

PPM1 is constructed from 0.15 mm (0.006”) diameter clear homopolymer polypropylene monofilament. The design contains two monofilaments knitting in unison to provide extra strength without adding thickness.

PPM3 is constructed from 0.15 mm (0.006”) diameter clear homopolymer polypropylene monofilament.  The design yields a flexible mesh with high conformability. 

PPM5 is constructed from 0.10 mm (0.004”) diameter clear homopolymer polypropylene monofilament. The design yields a flexible mesh with well defined apertures.  It can be cut into virtually any shape while retaining good edge integrity and fabric strength.
